Generative art
The gift that keeps on giving. And giving.
Challenge
Design an agency Christmas greeting card that shows the agency’s appreciation for clients & partners, the DigitasLBI way.
Approach
Based on the hypothesis that, just like us, our clients & partners would have a lot on their plate before the holidays. We found an opportunity to help lighten the load by focusing on the last item on the Christmas to-do list, buying the wrapping paper.
Solution
By combining creative, design and tech we created a service that generated wrapping paper designs for all kinds of preferences. All they had to do was rip the page, pick preferred design, print and wrap their gifts.
design
To make sure our users could generate artwork, even on the go. We designed a responsive, clean and simple UI that wouldn't conflict with the randomized background.
in action
Using a super advanced algorithm (googled it) we created a formula that generated an infinite number of designs by randomizing the inputs.
Input random variables; [brnd_color][img][rotation][width][height]= generative art
Generated designs
After days of ripping here are some favorites. We also made sure that the generated png files also had randomized names.
